FRIENDS OF HUNTFOLD
Our Community Group is made up of two parts - a small management team and the informal yet vital part, the ‘Friends’ or residents who support what we do.
WHAT WE DO
We care for and maintain the green spaces on the Huntfold Farm Estate. Faced with our green spaces being sold off, we gathered support from our residents to lease the areas from Bury Council and took responsibility to look after them.
Guided and funded by our residents at our AGM, the Friends of Huntfold Management Team receive and administer their contributions to oversee each year's care and maintenance plan.
THE MAINTENANCE PROGRAMME
Every year, between April and October, our Contractors carry out sheduled visits to cut and collect the grass and keep the edges free of cuttings. Twice a year, they trim bushes and shrubs that are on or overhang the green spaces.
The Friends of Huntfold is a Community Group with a specific remit - to care for and maintain the green spaces located at Fellside, Greenheys Crescent and Greenpark Close. They form a much loved part of our community and provide significant benefits to the estate and the wider community.
Our Constitution sets out what we do and what we do not do, how we are organised, how we propose and agree a Care and Maintenance Plan for each year and how much we ask each household to contribute so as to keep each year’s contribution as low as possible.
Our AGM has been completed and the plan for 2021 confirmed. Through leaflets and emails, we consulted with everyone virtually as a result of the pandemic. We need the Friends of Huntfold Community to continue your support by contributing £50 for our 2021 Plan.
